Where a participant resides in an Aged Care Facility the Aged Care Quality of Care Principles (2014 legislation) indicate that provision of a hoist for shared use between residents is the responsibility of the aged care facility.
Consider whether the condition is temporary (ie recovery from an acute medical event where a hoist is required temporarily) is the responsibility of the health system.
