If you’re sick of hearing about all the “deficits” challenging people on the autism spectrum, join the club. But for every down side to autism, there seems to be a positive – an unusual trait that rarely appears among the “typical” community, but shines out among autistic folk. These plusses are well worth celebrating.
1. Autistic People Rarely Lie
We all claim to value the truth, but almost all of us tell little white lies. All, that is, except people on the autism spectrum. To them, truth is truth – and a good word from a person on the spectrum is the real deal.
2. People on the Autism Spectrum Live in the Moment
How often do typical people fail to notice what’s in front of their eyes because they’re distracted by social cues or random chitchat? People on the autism spectrum truly attend to the sensory input that surrounds them. Many have achieved the ideal of mindfulness.
3. People with Autism Rarely Judge Others
Who’s fatter? Richer? Smarter? For people on the autism spectrum, these distinctions hold much less importance than for typical folks. In fact, people on the spectrum often see through such surface appearances to discover the real person.
4. Autistic People are Passionate
Of course, not all autistic people are alike. But many are truly passionate about the things, ideas and people in their lives. How many “typical” people can say the same?
5. People with Autism Are Not Tied to Social Expectations
If you’ve ever bought a car, played a game or joined a club to fit in, you know how hard it is to be true to yourself. But for people with autism, social expectations can be honestly irrelevant. What matters is true liking, interest and passion – not keeping up with the Joneses.
6. People with Autism Have Terrific Memories
How often do typical people forget directions, or fail to take note of colours, names, and other details? People on the autism spectrum are often much more tuned in to details. They may have a much better memory than their typical peers for all kind of critical details.
7. Autistic People Are Less Materialistic
Of course, this is not universally true – but in general, people with autism are far less concerned with outward appearance than their typical peers. As a result, they worry less about brand names, hairstyles and other expensive but unimportant externals than most people do.
8. Autistic People Play Fewer Head Games
Who was that woman, and why were you looking at her? I know I TOLD you I didn’t mind if you went out, but why did you believe me? Most autistic people don’t play games like these – and they assume that you won’t either. It’s a refreshing and wonderful change from the Peyton Place emotional roller coaster that mars too many typical relationships!
9. Autistic People Have Fewer Hidden Agendas
Most of the time, if a person on the autism spectrum tells you what he wants – he is telling you what he wants. No need to beat around the bush, second guess, and hope you’re reading between the lines!
10. People with Autism Open New Doors for ‘Neurotypicals’
For some of us neurotypicals, having an autistic person in our lives has had a profound positive impact on our perceptions, beliefs and expectations. redacted: s47F - personal privacy

Dr Temple Grandin was also institutionalised for a stage in her life and it would have been a tragedy if her work had not occurred. 2016-10-06T22:41:00.920Z

I have been given a link to download the audiobook for free. If you go to audible.com you can get a free 30 day trial which includes a credit for a free book. Neurotribes is approx. 20hrs of listening but it is totally worth it. Just make sure you cancel your subscription once you have signed up before the 30 day trial ends. 778508614 778508614 Hredacted: s22(1)(a)(ii) - irrelevantOredacted: s22(1)(a)(ii) - irrelevant Australia’s First National Guideline for Autism Diagnosis
On 06 Oct, 2016 By Tess Cosgrove

A major study has been launched to develop Australia’s first national diagnostic guideline for autism led by The Cooperative Research Centre for Living with Autism (Autism CRC).

There is strong evidence of substantial variability in autism assessment processes between clinicians, between states and between rural and metropolitan areas. This is leading to delays in diagnosis, misdiagnosis, and inequity in access to services.
Commissioned under a collaboration between Autism CRC and the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA), a national guideline will ensure that each individual across Australia has knowledge of, and access to, best practice in autism diagnosis.
The project will be led by Professor Andrew Whitehouse (Director of the Autism CRC Diagnosis Research Program), in conjunction with Clinical Associate Professor John Wray, Professor Margot Prior, Professor Valsamma Eapen and Kiah Evans.
Professor Whitehouse from The University of Western Australia said this project will define a diagnostic process that ensures consistency and accuracy in diagnosis, is feasible to deliver, and acceptable to those on the spectrum and their families.
“The substantial variability that exists Australia in autism diagnostic processes provides confusion to families, clinicians and government,†said Professor Whitehouse.

“Developing a national diagnostic protocol is a critical step to ensuring consistent and equitable access to autism diagnosis across Australia for both children and adults.â€

NDIA Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Louise Glanville, said the Agency was committed to co-design and recognised the design of the Scheme must be informed by the lived experiences of participants and people with disability.
“Working with Autism CRC provides the Agency with an opportunity to participate in an exceptional collaboration with the autism community, researchers, practitioners and service providers to improve the diagnosis and early identification of autism,†said Ms Glanville.
While access to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is not dependent on a diagnosis, the team will be working closely with the NDIA to ensure the guideline aligns with the processes for entry into the NDIS.
“Our aim is that all those on the autism spectrum and their families are given access to best-practice diagnostic processes. Aligning the guideline with the NDIS from the start will provide an integrated pathway to therapies and timely intervention, which will have enormous benefits for those with the lived experience of autism,†said Professor Whitehouse.
Autism CRC provides the national capacity to develop and deliver evidence-based outcomes through its unique collaboration with the autism community, research organisations, service providers and government.
The study underway is part of a broader collaboration between Autism CRC and the NDIA in research across the lifespan to support the autism community to access evidence-based services.
Autism CRC is the world’s first national research effort focused on autism across the lifespan, working together with the autism community to provide the evidence base to support individuals on the spectrum throughout their lives.

There is a document available on the NDIS website that may interest some of you. It is an NDIS funded synthesis of the current research about interventions for children with Autism spectrum disorder, put together by a number of experts in the field: ‘Autism spectrum disorder: Evidence-based/evidence-informed good practice for supports provided to preschool children, their families and carers’. Below are links to the pdf and to the Publications and Reports page where you can find a word doc copy under the Early childhood early intervention research section.

Â
Everyone on the autism spectrum has a unique combination of abilities. However, most seem to share three common characteristics (1. Limited social interaction abilities, 2. Limited abilities to use verbal communication, and 3. Restricted repetative behaviours, activities, and interests) (see image). However, it might be time to update this model to include sensory sensitivities (i.e., external sensitivities and proprioception).

The profiles are fluid to environmental factors around them. 2019-03-22T05:54:20.214Z

At least in the spheres that I am part of, it’s not uncommon for autistic adults to have autistic children. redacted: s47F - personal privacy
Â
Often, it is the child’s initial diagnosis that leads to the parent’s diagnosis (the lost generations). Clinicians don’t always broach this subject (i.e. hereditary links) with parents, so in some instances it is years later that the parent finds out that they too have Autism. I know that in the circles that I am part of, this has raised feelings of anger and confusion about “lost time” alongside feelings of relief because it puts their personal challenges into perspective. It also leads to frustration when the parents themselves try to seek support for their own challenges because there is a common assumption that their presentation of Autism must not be that bad or these adults would have “outgrown” their autism; which will never be the case. So, there are still a lot of barriers for those who have received an adult diagnosis of Autism.

What I have been working on from a personal prospective.
Â
With regards to Autism and working towards an improved participant experience. My pasison is early intervention for Autism and Mental Health, because of this I have made contact with a professor at the Royal Children’s hospital in Melbourne and a transition expert who are currentloy working on a project to create a smoother transition for yioung people who have a diagnosis of ASD and/ or Mental Health.
I have been given permission to share the email which has been sent to me:
Dear Jredacted: s22(1)(a)(ii) - irrelevant
Thank you very for making contact and for your interest in our project. redacted: s47F - personal privacy and your experience at NDIS is invaluable.
With regards to our project, I thought it may be helpful to share with you some background about this. We have developed a new transition to adult care model for young people with ASD and/or ID with mental health or behavioural concerns. This process commenced in 2014 with myself and a team of equally passionate senior medical heads from 5 departments at the RCH to collectively to improve transition care both within the RCH and between the RCH and the community. This was formally recognised as a project at RCH from 2016/17 where Lionel officially became involved and has since made a significant positive impact particularly in the engagement of GPs in the community.
An important part of the development of this model of care was obtaining the advice and feedback from a number of families who had made the transfer to adult care (over 70 families) and through transition clinics where I have now seen nearly 150 young people and their families in the last 12 months who continue to provide us with important feedback throughout their participation in this model of care. A large part of my role in transition clinic is to support and assist families in developing links with community services and navigating the NDIS and have found some agencies, DHHS and others in the disability sector to be quite helpful although it continues to worry and frustrate many families too.
As we are currently in the process of collating, de-identifying and evaluating our data and outcomes, it may be a while before we have some results to share with the RCH and the community but we hope that this won’t be too far away, perhaps by the end of this year.

I would be very happy to discuss this project further with you at any time.
Kind regards,
Evelyn

Often read plans where parents have divorced and the support networks want psychology to address the behaviors caused by this. Else child has been in a domestic violence situation and mirrors the behaviors observered at home in the public and school.
What mainstream resources/services can help children through the trauma associated with these experiences. Often NDIS support teams advocate that its the disability that is causing the problems not he situation, that ndis funding is the only way to address these issues.. As an ex teacher i have observed that the situation can create these behaviors not always the disability. Has anyone had luck with mainstream services? 2020-11-30T00:13:53.154Z

1.0199E+15 9.6845E+14 Fredacted: s22(1)(a)(ii) - irrelevant, Mredacted: s22(1)(a)(ii) - irrelevant Developmental Trauma caused by family violence experience for children cannot be separated out easily from disability/developmental delay and can in itself lead to a range of complex emotional, cognitive and physical illnesses that can last throughout their lives.Â
For a child with ASD, it is not usually possible to discriminate clearly between what observed behaviors are due to experience of FV and what are disability related. As you will have experienced, there are additional complexities for a child who has developmental challenges in the areas of communication, behavior/social emotional where FV may lead to an exacerbation of these challenges and some changes/escalation in behaviors rather than be the identified cause. The overwhelming stress of their experiences, can be compounded by their disability related challenges -that may include communication, social/emotional, need for sameness in routine…..
Having a mainstream FV focused psych that is not disability trained and a Disability NDIS funded psych both supporting the child and carer with the same behaviors/skills from a different perspective may not be effective or efficient and lead to confusion. 2021-01-04T12:51:04.847Z

1.0394E+15 9.6845E+14 Kredacted: s22(1)(a)(ii) - irrelevant, Mredacted: s22(1)(a)(ii) - irrelevant Has anyone had any luck with mainstream services?
Hi Eredacted: s22(1)(a)(ii) - irrelevant I was a Student Wellbeing Officer working in Specialist Schools, where, sadly FV is all too common.
The school system does have various state funded programs, where a Department of Ed. employed, Clinical Psychologist (and/or OT or Speech for BoC) would support the Teacher/s to adapt the daily teaching structure to accommodate the hitting out. However, when done in isolation, has limited impact on supporting the child through the processes of trauma (of any kind). I agree with Maria, about the need for support to be firstly considered effective, before it is applied to a child. In addition, there are risks that need to be considered which may require a formal/medical assessment, in case treatment is needed to be applied. Maybe a GP is best initial place to support the family with their journey.
Â
Developmental Trauma and the intersection with a young person with a Disability, may need to consider the barriers to child in the way they interpret the family violence events. For example, the speed of processing emotion together with the environment available to process the grief, may not be accessible. I witnessed many otherwise able children, who would process by running, climbing, jumping, throwing (gross motor) and the teachers and staff would use this need during the day to re focus a child. Disabilities, that have social skill deficits, maybe avoidant to loud sudden noises and volumes of movement and be prevented from the play grounds that may allow for Trauma processing. Similarly, with mobility issues. The disability may present as a barrier to accessing otherwise able processing pathways - maybe a consideration for funded support?
Â
If a referral for “treatment” is needed, then a state funded psychologist/allied health would be possible or medical system accessed through G.P.
Â
I would be curious about the young person with a disability on a case by case basis and the need for support to process and activate the tools they need to prevent escalations of behaviours of concern that have arisen because of ASD ID or Mobility/CP barriers. Perhaps increasing the risk of; breakdown of education, home and potential leaving school options? 2021-01-17T22:51:33.228Z

Â
Question around ASD diagnoses and access.
Recently in Sydney we have been getting a lot of people receiving an ADOS (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule) Score to update their disability or meet access to the scheme.
Â
My Questions are:
  1. Can you use an ADOS diagnoses score to meet access to the scheme?
  2. What would be the main differences between ADOS and the DSM-5 for ASD?
  3. Should we tell people to go back an ask for a DSM-5 instead of an ADOS? | 2021-12-20T00:38:09.570Z | | 1.5278E+15 | 1.5266E+15 | Gredacted: s22(1)(a)(ii) - irrelevant, Jredacted: s22(1)(a)(ii) - irrelevant | redacted: s47F - personal privacy My understanding of the ADOS is that it is a gold standard assessment tool used to support the diagnosis of ASD but that the diagnosis itself is currently made under the DSM-5 (and previously under earlier versions of the DSM). A diagnosis is a one-off event as it is a permanent condition if someone was diagnosed years ago they may have arranged an ADOS to give a current picture of their functional impacts. | 2021-12-20T21:25:36.556Z |

The ADOS (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule) is a standardized assessment that assesses an individual’s function in various domains: social interaction, communication, and imagination during a semi-structured interaction with a clinician. It is well-studied and is a reliable and valid instrument to assess the presence of ASD.
The ADOS has four modules for individuals with different developmental and language levels, ranging from children with no expressive language to older and more verbally capable individuals. Modules 1“3 are for children and module 4 was developed for verbal adolescents and adults. If an individual is assessed to a threshold level, they are then diagnosed with autism.
In contrast, the DSM-5 is not an assessment, it is a rating scale which is used to label the severity of the condition impact on the individual. The result of the assessment tool used is compared with the descriptors in the DSM-5 scale by a suitably qualified health professional to identify the DSM-5 level.
The clinician uses an assessment to determine whether an individual reaches the threshold level to be diagnosed with a condition “ in this case autism - and how they are affected and then uses the DSM-5 to categorise that severity.
Note that not all health professionals are qualified to diagnose conditions so there will be some cases where a health professional has done an assessment but that health professional cannot use it to diagnose a condition eg. an OT cannot diagnose but they can use the assessments. Where the assessment has been done by a health professional not qualified to diagnose, the individual will need to go to a qualified diagnostician to confirm a diagnosis and use the DSM-5 ranking to determine its severity level.
We are about to release information about which health professionals are qualified to diagnose which conditions to assist you.
In answer to your questions:
  1. Can you use an ADOS diagnoses score to meet access to the scheme? Depends on which health professional they have used to do the ADOS. An individual can provide their ADOS scores but we would need a suitably qualified clinician, who is authorised to diagnose autism, to confirm an ASD diagnosis and preferrably use the DSM-5 to rate the severity.
  2. What would be the main differences between ADOS and the DSM-5 for ASD? As above, the ADOS is an assessment tool which is completely different from the DSM-5 which is simply a severity rating system. Â
  3. Should we tell people to go back an ask for a DSM-5 instead of an ADOS? Agency staff aren’t taught how to interpret the results of the different types of assessment tools, nor should they be. This requires a qualified diagnostician who has expert training and clinical experience. We should be asking the individual to get a clinician who is qualified to diagnose autism to determine the severity of their assessment results using the DSM-5 ASD table. As above, the results of an ADOS (or any other standardised assessment tool) inform the ranking of a condition using the DSM-5 ranking system. Â In summary, an individual can get an ADOS or any of the other standardised assessments (there are many listed on the ARF) from a health professional trained to use it but needs a clinician who is authorised to diagnose autism to review the results to give a diagnosis. The results of the assessments are then used with the DSM-5 ranking scale to determine the level of autism they have. | 2021-12-21T00:05:13.722Z | | 1.528E+15 | 1.5266E+15 | Mredacted: s22(1)(a)(ii) - irrelevant, Rredacted: s22(1)(a)(ii) - irrelevant | [[user:1586603071]] I like that term a current picture of the functional impacts !! | 2021-12-21T00:23:57.568Z | | 1.528E+15 | 1.5266E+15 | Mredacted: s22(1)(a)(ii) - irrelevant, Rredacted: s22(1)(a)(ii) - irrelevant | Thanks so much for the input from this question very great example of team worker here !! | 2021-12-21T00:26:09.813Z | | 1.5294E+15 | 1.5266E+15 | Eredacted: s22(1)(a)(ii) - irrelevant, Vredacted: s22(1)(a)(ii) - irrelevant | Great description, thanks Lredacted: s22(1) . Â Just another observation to add to the mix. We’ve also found that the ADOS is very good at assessing people who may present and later be diagnosed with ASD 2 or 3, however the questions and assessment seem to be geared towards the ‘higher level’ presentations and it is sometimes difficult to pick the more subtle signs for those presenting with ASD1 and girls in particular. We’ve found that people (and in our case mostly children) who have found skills to ‘mask’ and copy the actions of others (especially girls) are often coming out with unclear results with the ADOS assessment tool and are instead going undiagnosed or diagnosed by qualified clinicians who get to know the child and family and are able to pick out the subtleties. For example, girls who ‘collect’ teddies or dolls and like to arrange them in a certain way on their beds are not recognised for this an ‘obsessive’ like behaviour as it doesn’t look the same as a child lining up cars across the room. This was not intended to be a sexist comment, and my apologies if it came across this way, rather an observation. | 2021-12-22T00:13:36.651Z |

Neuro-Diversity and Employment

Wonder about your thoughts of the discussion below.

Here’s a link to an article in Harvard Business Review about hiring people with autism:

Neurodiversity Is a Competitive Advantage (hbr.org)

Good news I suppose.

Problem is it focuses on people with Autism who are good with data. I find this very stereotypical. redacted: s47F - personal privacy

People with diverse ability are human beings and I think there human “being-ness” is the advantage.

Maybe I’m wrong though???

I agree redacted: s22(1).

I think the Rain Man/savant stereotype comes up because people are familiar with it. Other representations of autism are emerging in popular culture, but I don’t think they are well-known yet. Perhaps for employers who are not yet familiar with the concept of neurodiversity, it’s easier to get them onboard if you say that people with autism can help with their data processing, because that’s something they can imagine?

I like to think we are moving towards employing complex human beings and moving away from employing homogenous human resources, at least in skilled positions. To have diverse and inclusive workplaces, have to recognise that each person brings to the job a unique combination of capabilities, experiences and preferences.

If businesses want to employ people with autism for a competitive advantage, then maybe they should be looking at other industries that are already succeeding in this way. I heard that, despite the stereotypes, more people with autism are employed in the medical industry than in the IT industry. Many are also successfully employed in veterinary care and as police officers. Perhaps the workplaces that are not supportive of people with autism are simply not supportive of diversity in general. If wanting people to help crunch their data helps them wake up to who they’re excluding and what they’re missing out on, then maybe that’s a good thing! ;-)

Autism and the Aloneness Spectrum

I want to share some ideas about Autism and Aloneness which I call the “Aloneness Spectrum” to see if they resonate with others with Autism.

Alone is where you choose not to be in the company of others nor to interact socially. It is a choice. Loneliness is where there is no choice. You are alone and do not want to be. If applied to having autism and what sometimes happens, you can’t get, nor keep, the company of others because of the traits of Autism.

I don’t see this as a situation of blame rather than charity that simply “is”.

redacted: s47F - personal privacy

I think the scheme builds roads and helps repair bridges through the funding it provides but it is a journey and the road meanders into deep valleys as it walks towards the mountains high.

My hope is that people with Autism can choose Aloneness if that’s what they want but not to be Lonely.

Hi Stephen thanks for sharing. redacted: s47F - personal privacy

Thank you so much for your personal expression, which help us all in community - further connect and understand respectful language associated with the varied nature of Autism. For some individuals they prefer ‘the experience of Autism’ - and as each experience is often different… it allows open mind and mitigates the impact of a clinical label.

I coined the term “awe-tis-some” redacted: s47F - personal privacy

Thank you for sharing this! redacted: s47F - personal privacy Amaze conducted research around the preferences of the Australian Autistic community and found that almost two-thirds of people surveyed stated a preference for identity-first language (Our language - Amaze).

redacted: s47F - personal privacy

What about “awe-tis-tick”? The tick for being a positive. I also don’t like the word “disabled” as dis means less. We are all disabled in some way e.g. we can’t all run 100m in less than 10 seconds so compared to people who can we are “less” abled or disabled. I think we are all “differently-abled” i.e. abled in different ways and can do different things. I also think neurodiverse is OK which some do not like. Neurotalented is what I like too. Not sure if we’ll ever get the naming right for everyone though and that’s a tough challenge. I think labels are the core challenge here. It’s a pity we have to use them but sometimes it helps people understand “us” better as the name can communicate many things quickly. Problem is it can also communicate “negative” perceptions quickly also.

This is interesting. redacted: s47F - personal privacy . Each to their own.

It is not widely known that tax incentives for individual and corporate philanthropy do not, in practical terms, encourage inclusion. Under section 30-25 of the Income Tax Act 1997, a tax deduction can be claimed for gifts to a government school that: (a) provides special education for students each of whom has a disability that is permanent or is likely to be permanent. However, the catch is that it must not provide education to other students (ie: students without a disability). What this means in practice is that any government school that has a special needs unit attached to it cannot receive tax deductible philanthropic donations. The government school has to be only a government school providing special education as per point (a) above to receive deductible donations. | 2019-05-09T05:51:31.565Z | | 1.411E+14 | 1.39259E+14 | M redacted: s22(1)(a)(ii) - irrelevant, N redacted: s22(1) | Hi N redacted: s22(1). Hi M redacted: s22(1)(a)(ii) - irrelevant, this will be extremely interesting. Girls and Women on the spectrum display significantly different traits to the typical ADOS assessment. I feel girls and women on the spectrum are undiagnosed and overlooked. Girls on the spectrum mimic social behaviour and often do not display the inability to socially interact, however the energy used to socially interact creates great anxiety and the potential for depression in later life. Early intervention and understanding of girls on the spectrum is imperative.

Thanks, interesting read…have we covered japan yet?….

It was covered on 24 May. You can find it by using the Search box up top in this group for Japan.

I read one of the papers on Japan and found it interesting.

I’m pretty certain that a fertile field of research into Autism in Japan would be a question like: How does the Japanese culture of social conformity impact individuals diagnosed with ASD?

I lived in Japan for about 2.5 years in my younger days and continue to be interested.

Â
Prevalence is the number of people within a population who have a condition and incidence is the number of people within a populaiton who are being diagnosed with a condition.
Â
The prevalence and incidence of conditions change for many reasons. For example, when the smallpox vaccine became routine the incidence of smallpox decreased. However, the prevalence of smallpox survivors remained stable and then started to decline shortly after immunisation programs. What occured was that as people were vaccinated those who contracted smallpox and survived started to die for various reasons, other than smallpox. Due to the eradication of smallpox its incidence is zero. However, its prevalence is still declining each year as the small group of remaining survivors of smallpox pass away. Eventually, the prevalence of smallpox will also be zero.
Â
In terms of autism, I suspect with DSM-5 being a stricter eligibility criterion the incidence of ASD should decrease. If incidence rates continue to be smaller using DSM-5, instead of DSM-IV-TR, then eventually the prevalence of ASD should also decrease over time.

It’s even harder when EMOTIONAL LABOUR is in play.
Â
The Wiki states:
Â
Emotional labor is the process of managing feelings and expressions to fulfill the emotional requirements of a job. More specifically, workers are expected to regulate their emotions during interactions with customers, co-workers and superiors. This includes analysis and decision making in terms of the expression of emotion, whether actually felt or not, as well as its opposite: the suppression of emotions that are felt but not expressed

It also impacts how clinicians assess functionality with their limited understanding on gender differences. Anecdotally, it seems those diagnosed with morbid mental health issues (specifically those with more overt signs) have an easier time obtaining supports.

Such as, understanding age of consent and what that means, as well as knowing what activities are legal to engage in on your computer (even when at home). This book is written by a person on the spectrum who’s gone to jail simply for not knowing what he could and couldn’t do. Information is power and our people on the spectrum often miss out on the mainstream info that regular teenagers and young adults learn from their peers. Our legal system is not kind to those with disabilities.

Would like your thoughts pls?

Hi M redacted: s22(1)(a)(ii) , wonder if there is research around what I call “Trait Amplification†(my term) i.e. when circumstance (anxiety provoking situation such as challenges to belief systems) are such that traits will be more likely to be expressed and the “volume louder†i.e. behaviours more pronounced and ability to “control†is less?

Â

Hello colleagues,

Â

By now I hope you’ve read the all staff message from Donna Purcell, our Disability Champion, about the “Employee with a Disability Workplace Experience Deep Dive†.

Although I am in Donna’s branch, I am not part of the team running the project and will not see what is going, but will participate just like all of you.

Â

I’d like to encourage all of you to participate as this is a great opportunity to tell people what is really happening for, and to, you including the “good, bad and the ugly†to use a movie title.

Â

I have great faith in the team working on this Deep-Dive being absolutely independent listeners and know they’ll hear, your experiences and also how you are feeling and why.

Â

In summary though, change can only happen if the truth is known so we really need your input. As folk of my tribe, I do hope you feel comfortable sharing your experiences.

Â

All the best, D redacted
