National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026 Submission 1111
My name is . I am the father of
If it wasn’t for NDIS my son- would never have been able to finally integrate into mainstream schooling at the age ffl At the age of 17 he is now thriving, but he still needs fo1tnightly counselling to work through issues and anxieties that crop up on a weekly basis. It is slow, incremental and persistent suppo1t enabled by NDIS that has created a young man that will one day be an independent and productive member of society, as well as tax paying. That’s why I believe that ~ ut to NDIS cannot disadvantage people like my son because we are not only disadvantaging
-
as an individual, but we are disadvantaging society too. If you could only know how much my
son now loves school, a place he once could not contemplate being. He gets effort awards eve1y year now and sets the standard for application amongst all his peers. Now the grades are starting to in1prove too. He has gone from Ds and Es, reading and writing at Kindergruten level at the age of 14, to topping his English and Legal studies classes, whilst receiving straight Bs is eve1ything else. His dream is to be a compliance officer ru1d I know one day, thruiks to the suppo1t he has received from NDIS funding, that he will be the best compliance officer you could hope for.
Please consider- •s sto1y in ru1y refonn to the NDIS.
Kindest regards,
