National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026 Submission 1370 - Supplementary Submission
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to express how vital NDIS coordinators are for participants like Wilson, a young man living with severe permanent disabilities.
NDIS coordinators do far more than organise services. They help participants build confidence, access the right supports, engage with their communities, and live with greater independence and dignity. For many participants, coordinators are the bridge between isolation and inclusion.
People with complex disabilities often struggle to navigate the NDIS system alone. Coordinators ensure participants understand their plans, attend appointments, connect with providers, and continue progressing toward their goals. Their support improves participant wellbeing, safety, community participation, and overall quality of life.
For participants like coordinated support has helped reduce fear, increase community engagement, and create opportunities that once felt impossible. Without coordinators, many vulnerable participants risk becoming isolated, overwhelmed, and disconnected from essential supports.
NDIS coordinators are not optional support. They are essential to participant growth, inclusion, and independence.
Kind regards,
Bikash
