National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026
Submission 141
I support the need for reform, but this bill is not the reform that is required. The best I can do as someone with impaired cognition, is briefly summarise what life has become like under current NDIS rules:
Since acquiring adult-onset conditions around age twenty, a full, satisfyingly diverse pre-disability life was lost. The NDIS should bridge those gaps between who you are now versus where you want to be; however, cuts across both Core & Capacity Building funds mean that I’m barely surviving and at risk from serious harm or hospitalisation.
