National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026

Submission 1507

To Whom It May Concern,

I wish to formally express my opposition to the proposed changes contained within the National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026. While I support the need for accountability, sustainability and fraud prevention within the NDIS, I do not support reforms that may reduce access to essential supports, create additional barriers for participants, weaken review and appeal rights, or shift the scheme away from its original purpose of providing reasonable and necessary supportto Australianslivingwithdisability.I am particularly concerned about: potential tighteningofeligibilityrequirements; increaseduseofofautomateddecision-making;reducedflexibilitiyinparticipantplansand funding; limitationsonreviewsandanappeals; thekriskovulnerableAustralianslosingcriticalsupportsandservices.TheNDISwasestablishedtoprovidedindependenceandequitabeparticipationfor people living with disability.Any reformsmustbedevelopedtransparently,in genuineconsultationwithparticipants, carers, familiesprovidersandalldvocacy groups.

Submission 1507 I urge the Government and the Senate Committee to reconsider these proposed changes, undertaking broad consultations, and ensuring participants are not disadvantaged. The NDIS should be focused on its participants while remaining fair, transparently administered with accessibility across all ages.
