Inquiry: The National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the
NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026.
Personal Submission - redacted`
I am a concerned Australian citizen. Not only do I have friends and community members who are unable to work due to disability, but I am aware that at any point anyone can become disabled and think it makes this an important issue all around.` My main concern about this bill is potential barriers between people’s access dignity autonomy increasing likelihood issues like homeless systemic abuse. From what understand:
- introducing automation has tested trialled; being introduced alongside other changes with understanding effects alongside; making more difficult communication accommodates disabilities reducing individualisation funding decisions meaning participants may receive appropriate supports e.g kicked off plans based on automated thresholds); forcing multiple conditions they able support receiving. Do not support this bill treating most vulnerable society reflection whole Removing revenue raise laughable insult average Australians concerns include: that will be able accessing appropriate or choose their own supports, lack of which result mental health decline substandard care putting together hastily consultation disabled leading falling through cracks risk condition/s worsening homelessness death without adequate care underfunded individually NDIS workers organisations effectively funded taking from least in name attempting restore balance budget simply cruel ineffective.
- National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS) for future generations) bill: submission
- Attempting to improve efficiency through changes not consulted with NDIS participants or staff may reduce care quality. In Australia’s billionaires’ wealth grew significantly while targeting low-income groups seems unfair.
