Supporter Submission – National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026

My name is and I live in . I run a small home-based business and I am also a family member and supporter of a person who relies on the NDIS. I am writing because I care deeply about the future of the NDIS and the impact this proposed Bill may have on people with disability and their families. I strongly oppose this Bill in its current form. as a family member supporting someone through the NDIS system, i have seen firsthand how important right support are.The ndis it’s not simply funding;it difference between participation isolation independence dependence coping crisis.the person i support relys ndis assistance to participate everyday life remain connected community.appropriate supports can improve independent allow meaningful participat create opportunities otherwise possible.families supporting someone disabil often spend countless hours attending appointments collecting reports coordinating supports advocating basic needs we do this because care deep but overwhelming.one greatest concern bill increasing uncertainty around supports access.families already face enormous pressure navigating complex system.find ourselves repeatedly proving needs well documented gathering more evidence fighting supports demonstrated necessary.people should justify needs over again.i worried continuity support trusted relationships.consistency matters.trusted support workers established critical wellbeing stability.changes barriers or uncertain real impacts function partici feel safe.worry changes designed reduce costs could unintentionally harder greater long-term cost early intervention appropriate help people engaged communities maintain quality lifestricting support shift more pressure onto unpaid carers increase risks burnout, isolation declining wellbeing.without adequate NDIS support people lose independ withdraw from communitie face poorer outcomes physically emotionally socially.Families left carrying responsibilities beyond sustainable.NDIs represents opportunity dignity inclusion.it strengthen supports reduce barrier and improve certainty participants families—not create additional fear confusion. For these reasons I believe Bill in its current form harmful should Parliament.
