National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026

Submission 1753

  • It’s beyond scary to think about how detrimental damage can happen if poor children don’t get enough school due to lacking funds.

Who performs risk factor analysis regarding murder suicides caused when mothers abandon disabled kids with funding support cutbacks? What researches suicide risks among mental health issues or well-being decorations as social access funding decreases across all communities in half? I personally know hospitals have disabled patients just supervised properly; will there be more money spent specifically here too now? Ambulance ramping problems: What happens then doctors must choose between sending disabled people home at great safety hazards versus having beds available? Where are those risk analyses on this issue located anyway? How do teachers compensate themselves managing gaps left where no supports exist anymore within classrooms without extra training also? Does our government understand that poorly supported disabled students disrupt classroom dynamics negatively impacting everyone else’s learning experience? The next generation of taxpayers and leaders is being let down because they’re creating an educational environment not conducive towards positive engagement… Does your government feel it has a way mitigate almost $9 billion lost from economy by cutting nearly one-third outta NDIS spending? We’re aware every dollar invested into the program returns anywhere up-to two-and-a-half dollars back. When we face constant budget deficits, how does your government justify taking away over 10 trillion dollars worth of economic value like this?

With these cuts, do you think governments realize they’ll likely pay for other things instead such as family crisis management? Will tax-paying mums lose their jobs due to lack support services? Many disabled individuals can work with background assistance but won’t if social/community funding isn’t provided. Will welfare pressure increase further still? The government collected about half-trillion dollars in inflation revenue off HELP debts last year; have they considered young adults choosing higher education less frequently now? This means fewer high-income earners & thus lower taxes too! Cutting huge capacities could cause significant ripple effects on society!

Accordingly, the commissioned review suggests NDIS costs are soaring mainly caused by insufficient community-based service provision while vague references point at redirecting participants elsewhere without any actual results!!

Submission 1753 You think because we are vulnerable, burned out, disabled that we are stupid! The Review found that for every $1 billion of funding cut from the NDIS, modelling suggests a drop of around 10,200 jobs and a decline of $2.25 billion in economic activity. A 0.14 per cent reduction in GDP. NDIA is a big employment sector for Australians. Further, Deloitte modelling found that closing the employment gap between disabled and people without a disability by just a third could produce a cumulative $43 billion increase in GDP over a decade. The Review also said the spending would stabilise around 2032-2033, especially if their recommendations were followed to fix the outlined issuesWhy does the budget in the purposed Bill not focus more on the crime fraud?Again, we have vague references but no actual information on who is doing it and how it will be tackled.Further to this the budget and proposed Bill does not adequately focus on the cost of administrative error, long wait times and red tape as well as some $3.3 million being allocated for AI programs that don’t even exist yet.How do we know there will not be a BOM blowout And participants won’t be punished again? The Review suggested building supports in the community before removing participants or cutting plan funding however this is already happening!!!I We know that costs moving different services struggling under financial pressure demand load.Services high staff turn-over due burn out where having attract migrants fill roles.Monash Univerity completed study showed NDIS reduces Medicare expenditure by $106m out pocket costs annually saves almost per person year mental health needs. It currently saves state health systems because disabled people waiting so they can discharged.I do supportSelf-management unless registration streamlined burden lose good workers.Minister’s new power cut without appeal (s).The functional capacity test reassessment everyone. The unscheduled rules loss review rights.new

I am raising two autistic boys who are being homeschooled due to their condition. These cuts proposed under NDIS Futures Bill could negatively impact my children’s development as they grow into functional adults because average families cannot afford specialized professional services needed in these areas without significant financial strain or burnout risks associated with providing care at home.
