I am writing this submission anonymously but I’m an NDIS participant who has a lifelong permanent diagnosis with Autism Spectrum Disorder Level II. Being on the NDIS matters greatly because it adds significant impact which helps us disabled people get necessary substantial supports needed so we can gain meaningful community access live better quality lives, gain crucial skills assisting our functioning well-being. The new reforms announced Mark Butler October could cause anger stress amongst many participants. it’s distressing being seen as ‘ripping off system’ when reform should target fraudulent providers using funds unfairly. specific issue isn’t taken seriously hurting seeing ourselves not human beings money grabbers lack of supports why all got onto scheme hate severe street told “NDIS scam” If lots boot out future result increased mass suffering more deaths from disability including going to hospital little/no support daily life function. negative effects economy pressure mental health systems otherwise help improve various aspects mentally emotionally physically these circumstances NOT be lightly AT ALL The NDLS didn’t exist wouldn’t have allied professionals such occupational therapist build essential skills enhance my daily functioning work barriers autism diagnosis also trusted workers take me social and community outings improving connections helpful reducing barrier diagnoses What means having opportunity part in community gaining services without support workers due disabilities need assistance finding employment building social connections developing important living skills independence overall wellbeing.

Submission 1856 I use the NDIS for my functional capacity to be assessed by an occupational therapist and any of the barriers outlined in my functional capacity assessment to be worked to improve. On the other hand, as a result from my autism diagnosis, it has been impacting me ability make connections long-life friends companions outside NDIs supports throughout whole entire life. The specific worry is having no access support workers social connection community. Having no supports tremendously impact mental physical health. in addition, centrelink income low cannot afford out pocket funds pay for supports to see my support worker’s occupational therapists social workers counselors psychologists without ndis. i also have informal network daily living.
