I’m writing as the sibling of someone with disability who is on the NDIS. I’m not an advocate or professional; just family member watching how important part her life has become due access supports helping feel connected capable community matters whole our family.

Oppose bill understand concerns about long-term cost dismissing those two parts worry lot: proposed cut social participation funding half new power Minister reduce someone’s funding right appeal. Social Participation extra sister sees people builds skills gets out house cutting category isn’t trimming edges heart scheme worthwhile section 34A troubles me much minister giving power cut someone’s funding without being able challenge it feels wrong especially little already have these situations Two things together - less funding, and no way push back are bad combination As a sibling think future looks role will play stability around that plan work changes add stress something uncertain if can be cut warning cannot appeal security disappears And halved gap doesn’t vanish falls back Family aren’t hypotheticals for decisions factoring own my life recommend committee suggest bill current form minimum see cap removed section either deleted rewritten proper independent appeals process before any reduction happen possible sustainable fair Bill stands manage this.
