This review does not constitute responsible governance of a welfare program; it opens doors to harm.

  • Removal of appeal rights – while understanding frustration regarding tribunal costs due to poor decisions, it’s better decision-making rather than eliminating family members’ right to challenge harmful decisions;
  • Implicit push towards group home living, which my granddaughter deserves safely near her family to ensure she receives necessary supports as documented during Royal Commission investigations when unavailable; The Committee should recommend significant amendments before proceeding further: Specifically remove blanket funding cuts and unchecked ministerial powers along with removals of appeal rights. Inquire into real drivers behind cost growth—pricing errors & administrative failures—not families needing support. Ensure that people receive care promised in their lifetime under NDIA Act.
