As it stands, this bill will cut off essential supports and services to those who need it. This is a statement echoed by many in the community and among specialists and analysts who have written about the proposal in The Guardianand the ABC.* The language around“reasonable supports” anda useof “computer programs”lacks clarityanda clear enough visionfor how thesechangeswill nurturer and provide safety forthecommunity, rathern than harm them. This willof course, nottonly affectthoseonaNDISplanwithadiagnosiso fautismbuteveryoneewiththeNDSIwhoseaccesstotheschememakestheir everyday life possible.
