- Supports to access the wider community for daily tasks and social opportunities. We are concerned about cuts affecting life outcomes; detrimental consequences include: disruption development, impaired mental health, inhibited ability thrive socially, curtailed workforce participation, altered engagement with broader society. When Labor reduces funding, critical support shifts back onto families already burdened financially due to disproportionate cost-of-living pressures. Single mothers like myself face significant underemployment challenges; such proposed reductions could push me out during an ongoing economic crisis. Supporting carers in maintaining employment enhances family well-being while promoting gender equality and mitigating long-term disadvantages—far more important than extravagant military expenditures on weapons or submarines! The absence of familial unpaid care is perilous among disabled individuals not having such resources available. Moreover, evidence indicates that every dollar invested into this scheme yields $2.25 return economically because receiving appropriate assistance enables greater work potential, increased hours worked, thereby reducing reliance upon other supports over time. Myself alongwith my family & community advocate passionately towards a fully funded ‘NDIS’ which ensures: Fully protected from being used as scapegoats within federal budgetary constraints. Equal opportunity regardless disability category involved. Customizable to individual needs ensuring no ‘one size fits all’ approach for disabilities. Empowerment through decision-making processes where participants retain the right appeal decisions made about their supports and drive any changes implemented by our NDIS system. Thank you for providing us with submission opportunities.
