National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026
Submission 2029
To whom it may concern, This letter is regarding the NDIS Future Generations Bill 2026. As a mother to three children (ages 10, 12, 13) accessing the NDIS, I care deeply about this service and what it has provided my children over the years. My first two children were diagnosed pre-NDIS, and were only given capped funding to use in block-funded areas. The lack of funds, choice, control, etc., something that doesn’t want reversion back from NDIC. In year alone we had used significant personal funds ($50k), therapy on top state federal governments could provide. We less control or choices services daughter can access respite community Now choose appropriate care our child meet high support needs safest way her. They help ease the pressure off parents who are trying to focus on supporting their loved ones through each day, by taking over these tasks. It’s difficult to get someone to take over your role as a carer; nobody cares about caring like you care yourself when it comes down to it being their parent too! But if they can step up then there’s no more need worrying about whether or how much support will come along because now everything falls into place nicely without having all those extra responsibilities hanging around. The child remains at home where he belongs while still getting proper attention needed most especially during times such as soft tissue injuries caused due self-inflicted harm leading towards bleeding and distressing state which makes walking away from them impossible until understanding administrative procedures followed afterwards completing necessary requests before making changes happen accordingly? This is my personal experience with my own son whom had been hurting himself causing physical damage resulting in emotional trauma requiring constant supervision amidst other challenges faced daily within our household environment. I would also address some concerns regarding access & eligibility criteria proposed under this bill: Capacity assessments set forth should be adequate enough considering individual circumstances rather than excluding environmental factors altogether. This could lead us astray since everyone lives differently depending upon unique situations surrounding themselves individually; everyone has varying levels of needs based not only just medical condition but surroundings play significant roles here too! For instance: My children who have NDIS benefits yet face different kinds of difficulties require distinct types supports tailored specifically according each person’s specific requirements, hence living together creates additional complications for parents trying manage multiple issues simultaneously It becomes even harder when dealing extreme behavioral problems alongside high level care demands placed on single parent family unit like mine; these two aspects aren’t mutually exclusive nor independent entities needing separate consideration. Overall, I believe the government hasn’t provided sufficient time to properly digest all information contained herein or made any effort at simplifying it further so as allow more people voice their opinions effectively. The resources available online such CYDA and Team DSC proved very helpful while Senator Jordan Steele-John’s materials were equally beneficial towards understanding complex matters involved. This submission took hours out my personal life which wouldn’t been possible without those aforementioned sources providing guidance throughout process; it seems many others might struggle similarly hence hoping committee takes notice accordingly before finalizing decision regarding passage thereof. I want this bill rejected in its current form.
