National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026
Submission 2043 My name is redacted, and I am a person who works with disabled people who have access to the NDIS and have family members who access the NDIS. I ask that the government withdraw this bill.I would like to keep this submission anonymous. My main concern about this Bill is that increasing administrative compliance actually creates more work for an already stretchedsystem, addingmore uncertaintyandlabourtothealreadystretchedcapacityofdisabledpeopleandothosewhocareforthem. It’s unclear whatcompliancewillbe proposed, hownitwilbsupported, andwhetheritt willcostmor thanthesystemsinplace.Italso doesn’taddressthefraudinplaceswhere it’ shappening, suchaslargecompanieswhilereducingtheadcessthatpeopleneed especiallythosewhore queeror inregionaltowns whostuggletfindtherightfitwith workersinthelocalarea. The non-contactable statusisahugeconcern, as Ihaveaclientw cannot communicatebyphone which maymeantheycanbedroppedatanypointbecause their‘contact’ isn’twithinthebounds ofNDIS.Disability can be fluid ,an d peopl es health anda bilityf orcommunication changes - punishingthisdoesnothelpoursy stem butpushes them furthertot heedges. In case increased automation wehave seen how ended Robodebt thesechanges kill people while reducingblameleadershipapprovedthesechange s.
