Submission 2049
Dear Secretary
The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, ratified by Australia, Section provides that “people with disabilities have the same right as others to live, take part and be included in the community”.
Reform is about Cutting Costs:
The ‘reforms’ of this Bill are blatantly about cutting costs and will be detrimental to disabled persons.“False Economy Report shows from improved participation reduced burdens of carers families; returns $2.25 Australian economy every invested Cost-cutting participants counterproductive does not ensure peoples’ dignify safety human rights instead it penalise most vulnerable communities should focussing organised fraud dishonest service providers for purposes More regulation compliance requirements better systems put place. I am concerned tightening eligibility criteria including those already permanent disability Specifically a disability deemed permanent if all appropriate treatment has been exhausted This criterion appears defined It takes into consideration individual circumstances access available treatments no level playing field Many treatments may major cities centres Disabled people particularly regional remote areas accessibility such due physical mental emotional disabilities They also unable “all available” multiple visits often required financial burden medical treatment accommodation travel carer/family support other personal circumstances Thus eligibility ndis unfairly denied The was based principles cost reforms undermine these request Government re-consider ‘reformsWith greater consultation disabled their carers professionals organisations Please upload my submission NAME WITHHELD Yours,
