Submission 2149 — Name Withheld — NDIS Future Generations Bill

National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026 Submission 2149

To whom it may concern,

My name is , I have been a NDIS disability support worker in Melbourne for the past six years.

I am writing to you because I oppose the new NDIS bill that has been presented to parliament. I believe the proposed changes to the NDIS will not only negatively impact thousands of individuals that depend on supports to live their lives but it will also impact thousands of workers that depend on their jobs to pay their bills and feed their families.

These changes would also put added pressure on hospitals, healthcare services and emergency services. These changes would negatively impact the broader community and economy by reducing jobs and cause more anguish and distress to an already struggling job market.

I am particularly opposed to computer programs making decisions for disability supports. Not only would this further reduce jobs but computer programs don’t have human empathy or an understanding of how it feels to live with a disability and why these supports are essential.

The proposed changes won’t fix the administrative errors, waste and incompetence that lead to this bill being drafted in the first place. If NDIS participants, support workers and support coordinators could be involved in discussing NDIS changes, we could work together with lawmakers to create positive change that could save taxpayer dollars, reduce fraud and administrative errors.

By working together we can create change that will not be detrimental to people with disabilities and those who support them.

Warm regards,
