National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026

Submission 2203

Submission on the NDIS Amendment Bill

Name: I am an: Disabled person. My main concern about this Bill is:\nThe negative effects it will have on people with disabilities; removing independence, increasing financial strain—and like robodebt situations—people may take their lives if support lifelines are cut off. This Bill might affect me/people supported because:(Dot points fine)

  • Cannot financially afford supports accessed under ndis;
  • Improved abilities such as studying or working directly linked to ndis services would be halted;
  • Processing disability impacts could lead back into maladaptive behaviors without needed assistance affecting personal relationships negatively. One example of my experience(if possible): Accessing physiotherapy & exercise physiology helps manage chronic degenerative conditions allowing study/work over a decade ago. Occupational therapy/psychology aids in processing pain, fatigue while teaching strategies maintaining regulation and avoiding maladaptive behavior patterns. What I wish the Committee understands:

National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026

Submission 2203

The NDIS is misunderstood by everyone who isn’t a participant or a loved one or a participant. This is a literal lifeline.I beg you to reconsider the bill before us, not just because we need our own quality-of-life improvements; it’s crucially important too for those relying upon ndis services. The removal of therapist-assessments undermines what they’ve trusted to manage their health; handing over control in such an unqualified manner would be abhorrent. don’t make mistakes like these that could rob people’s independence, happiness, even their very livelihoods.
