National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026

Submission regarding the National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026 May 2026 Attention to the relevant parties; To complete this submission, I have had to utilize my support worker due to my various disabilities just so that my voice would still matter. I deeply care about maintaining an accessible life through having a safe environment, as well as being able to enjoy social interactions within communities which are important parts of me. The proposed changes will negatively impact both myself along other people who also suffer from disability issues such as reduced or insufficient supports provided under the NDIS program leading up until now. This bill proposes significant reductions across all areas including health services and safety measures while increasing costs associated directly related towards these individuals’ needs. It is crucially necessary not only because it could lead into increased death rates but also because there may be consequences on one’s mental wellbeing if they do not receive adequate assistance in time.

to alleviate associated mental health concerns associated with a persons’ disability. Cutting participant’s social and community participation funding will not cut costs; it will cut access to partaking in social and community activities or even worsen their life short; it isn’t appropriate nor suitable changing participants’ individual support funding into group-style programs as this takes away overall autonomy from individuals, affecting who they want around them during engagement times which may face barriers due to accessibility needs impacting interaction within such environments leading issues among other general members of communities. don’t wish forced involvement without interest consideration that doesn’t fit my personal requirements where I can’t leave if escalation occurs; don’t desire having disabilities define me entirely but rather see myself normal people continuing active roles through understanding individualized support workers accommodating specific needs allowing flexibility instead.
