National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026
Submission 2256 People with disabilities, especially involving learning and sensory issues are already not being taken seriously; people believe meltdowns are temper tantrums. Overstimulation is seen as ‘put-on’, popularly referred to disabled individuals in derogatory language such as “spazo’s & retards”; those benefiting financially often use these terms, suggesting potential misappropriation or misuse rather than genuine need. The cuts aren’t a solution—they merely appease those who can afford it, can serve as excuses allowing ministers to maintain appearances while shifting responsibility onto honest citizens. Perhaps there’s merit investigating those profiting unfairly from public funds instead.
