Submission 2396: (Provider experience)

National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026 Submission 23965/31/26, 8:48 PM TODAY’S AUCTIONS - dasxr6@gmail.com - Gmail

My name is .

I am a support worker who has seen first hand the damage that the cuts that have already taken place have caused. A client was told that they were not disabled enough and the ask for therapy was not value for money and not funded by NDIA. My client is a paraplegic, the therapies are E.P. and Physiotherapy, both required to maintain muscle mass and mobility, both funded by NDIS and cheaper than the now required 2 to 1 transferring which is more than twice the cost of the therapies.

The Government wants to cut costs, maybe employ people who understand what they are reading and who will work with the Specialists and participants to organise the correct funding that will actually benefit the participant. For one it will cut the cost of the lawyers and court time.

I oppose the cutting of community access funding. I also work with young individuals that, without funding to be able to access the community with support, will not be able to achieve any sort of independence, employment or the ability of just being able to leave their home. If I can’t take them out into the community to improve their people skills, learning to be around large numbers of people, learning to work through their anxiety, how to access the simple things like catching a bus / train or taxi, going into a shop and doing their shopping. How are they ever going to learn to be a functioning individual with some sort of productive future and employment.
