National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026
Submission 2526
Submission to the Senate Community Affairs Committee – Opposing the NDIS Future
Generations Bill
Regarding the NDIS Future Generations Bill 2026
To the Senate Community Affairs Committee,
I’m writing to share my total opposition to the proposed NDIS Future Generations Bill and my deep concerns about the changes the Government plans for the NDIS.
As someone who cares deeply about the dignity, safety, and inclusion of people with disabilities, I feel that the proposed changes are not only unjust but also threaten to undermine the rights, safety, and put disabled lives at risk. These changes would limit their choices and control, restrict access to the community, and undo the progress we’ve worked so hard to achieve toward their full participation.
I urge you to protect the rights of people with disabilities and ensure that the NDIS remains true to its core principles. Specifically, I ask you to:
Reject the proposed cuts and any measures that would reduce social and community participation.
Ensure strong rights to review and appeal, giving individuals the ability to contest decisions that affect their lives.
Safeguard true choice and control, allowing the freedom to choose providers registered or unregistered while maintaining necessary protections.
Allowing these changes would risk a return to times when people with disabilities were marginalized, devalued, and often overlooked or mistreated. Although the current system isn’t perfect, it empowers people with disabilities to participate, contribute, and be recognized as equals in our society.
I kindly ask you to take these concerns to heart and not pass the NDIS Future Generations Bill.
Warm regards,
National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026

Submission to the Senate Community Affairs Committee – Opposing the NDIS Future
Generations Bill
To the Senate Community Affairs Committee,
I am writing to express my opposition to the proposed NDIS Future Generations Bill, as well as my deep concern regarding the changes the Government intends to implement to the NDIS.
As a member of the community who deeply values the dignity, safety, and inclusion of individuals with disabilities, I believe that the proposed changes are unjust and threaten to undermine the rights, safety, and independence of these individuals. The changes in question would decrease choice and control, restrict community access, and reverse significant progress made toward full participation.
I respectfully urge the Committee to protect the rights of people with disabilities and ensure that the NDIS continues to uphold its foundational principles. Specifically, I ask the Committee to:
Reject the proposed cuts and any measures that would diminish social and community participation.
Guarantee robust rights to review and appeal, allowing individuals to contest decisions that impact their lives.
Safeguard genuine choice and control, including the freedom to use providers of one’s choice whether registered or unregistered while maintaining appropriate safeguards.
Allowing these changes to proceed would risk reverting to a time when individuals with disabilities were excluded, devalued, and too often neglected or abused. While the current system is not without its flaws, it empowers people with disabilities to participate, contribute, and be acknowledged as equal members of our society.
I kindly ask you to consider these concerns and refrain from passing the NDIS Future Generations Bill.
