National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026
Submission 2631
Dear Sir/Madam,
I object to this Bill. It should not be passed in its current form.
My 2 children have NDIS Plans and have been greatly helped by the supports funded by the NDIS.
There are many reasons why the Bill should be withdrawn. Some of these include:
-
It gives the responsible Minister too much power. It also gives the Minister arbitrary powers which are excessive.
-
We have never seen or experienced any fraud relating to the NDIS. Assuming fraud at a significant level exists as claimed in the media, then amendments should be targeted at reducing or eliminating that fraud, not at denying children with disability the support they need.
-
Amendments aimed at kicking vulnerable children with disability off the NDIS are harsh and regressive.
-
Relying upon the States and Territories to provide the supports for those children will inevitably resulting in them falling between the gaps and cause the children to suffer. It will also significantly undermine the NDIS as a national scheme.
Please do not progress this Bill in its current form.
Kind regards,
