Re; NDIS legislation changes

Hi,

My name is Wendy Bramble, a registered NDIS Provider since 2019, A ‘Positive Approach’ support Services (APASS) we provide Support Coordination, support workers and registered for many registration groups. We specialise in Mental health conditions, such at Schizophrenia, Schizo effective disorder, bipolar, personality disorder, anxiety and depression etc. neuro-diverse NDIS participants, Autistic Spectrum disorder, ADHD, ODD and intellectual disability not physical disabilities.

Over the last 12 months we have observed that the funding cuts to NDIS participant funding is already happening, even though the legislation has not been put through parliament, nor other mainstream and state government alternatives to provide the support and services that these people including children need to live their life in a positive way. Reasonable and necessary support that has to be cancelled because of the loss of reasonable and necessary funding because of the decisions being made by NDIS delegates and the planning team. In my opinion this is illegal as there is an obvious move to reduce funding for NDIS participants, before full consultation and legislation has been passed through parliament.

We have one particular person who neuro diverse and her main support that helps her with capacity building is her psychologist, this has been removed from her plan. She is devastated by this decision as this will mean she can only access Psychology through Medicare which requires a referral from her doctor and a large gap fee which she cannot afford. I am writing this submission at the 11th hour so cannot elaborate on other examples, but do think the implementation of reducing NDIS funding has been done before the legislation is passed.

Kind Regards,

Wendy Bramble
