Subject: Objection to NDIS Bill Amendments

I’m writing because I’m deeply upset and angry about the proposed NDIS Bill amendments.

Someone very close to me relies on the NDIS. They’re not asking for special treatment — just the ability to live with dignity, independence, and some quality of life. Watching people in that position being treated like a problem to be managed instead of Australians deserving support and respect is heartbreaking.

What troubles me most is how disconnected these changes feel from the reality of everyday people living with disability. Decisions that will have enormous impacts on vulnerable Australians seem to be coming from politicians far removed from the fear, stress, and uncertainty these amendments are causing.

I grew up believing Australia stood for fairness — for giving people a fair go and looking after those who need support, not making life harder for them. These amendments feel punitive and top-down, and they do not reflect the values I believe many Australians hold.

If the Labor government pushes ahead with this approach, it will absolutely influence how I vote in future. I cannot support policies that make disabled Australians feel less valued, less supported, and less secure in their own country.

I urge you to genuinely listen to people with disability, their families, carers, and communities before moving forward with these changes. Australians deserve a system built on compassion, fairness, and dignity — not fear.

Thank you.
