Submission 871
NDIS inquiry submission: I am writing as a concerned citizen with friends who utilise NDIS or support people on NDIS due their disability. Further, I also work at a youth NGO and see how access to NDIS can support young disabled people and conversely when
young people do not get their support it disadvantages them which has a
negative effect on their family and their communities, who don’t have the support needed to ensure their child can thrive. I oppose this bill that will have less funding and support for disabled people. It’s so disheartening to see the backlash about NDIS about disabled people because of a few exploitative private NDIS providers. Reforms should be targeted at providing better service and care to the most vulnerable in society not punishing them.
The bill in its current form is harmful to disabled people and should not be passed by Parliament.
