Good afternoon Partner Executives and Partner Change leads,

On Thursday 1 May, we shared background information with you (attached) on the forthcoming change to funding component amounts and funding periods (s33).

This covered an overview of the change, what the change means for partners, and available training and information.

We continue to remain on track for a release of this change on Monday 19 May.

In this email, we are sharing more information on next steps for partner teams.

Updated training information

A second e-learning module is now available for frontline staff and partners: Section 33 (s33) Funding Periods in PACE - Introducing Funding Periods in PACE.

The training aims to demonstrate how planning staff will:

  • complete the Funding Periods tab in the Plan Approval case
  • explain when to complete the new Participant Budget Update case, and how to complete the Funding Periods tab
  • explain how to complete new tasks related to Funding Period determinations in the Plan Change case
  • explain how to complete new tasks related to Funding Period requests and decisions in the Internal Review case

This module is designed for frontline agency staff who work in planning roles that make, support or communicate planning decisions to participants. Whilst this training has been developed specifically for NDIA delegates and frontline staff, Partner change leads are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the training and cascade the LEAP module to all partner frontline staff.

As previously communicated, we are sharing this training now to support your teams to understand the changes, and to provide an understanding of the factors that will be considered by NDIA delegates.

Engagement on funding periods change

We are engaging on this change with the sector, participants and providers.

We will engage with providers via information sessions commencing Thursday 8 May. There are four sessions that will run over the coming weeks for providers.

Each session will:

  • deliver an overview of the section 33 changes
  • provide a walk through on changes to the budget view in the my NDIS provider portal
  • provide an opportunity for Q&A at the end of each session

Further information and questions

Our team are currently working on an FAQ document which is being reviewed in preparation to share with partners. Once agency subject matter experts have reviewed this information,

It is the third of five modules that we will share with partner teams regarding implementation of funding period changes.

Further information and questions

Our team has shared the first iteration of the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) document through the Partner Change lead chat yesterday, and the link can be found here: [Funding periods](Funding periods).

Should Partner change leads have questions relating to funding periods that have not yet been answered in the FAQs please consolidate the questions on behalf of your Partner organisation and add to the change leads tracker which you can access here: [Actions Tracker.xlsx](Actions Tracker.xlsx).
