Response

The standard timeframe to process an FOI request is 30 calendar days. The Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act) contains several provisions that allow for extended time to process an application. There are four extension types:

e extensions with the applicant’s agreement (s 15AA)

extensions to allow the agency to consult a third party (s15(6))

extensions for complex or voluminous requests (s 15AB)

extensions after the processing period runs out (s 15AC, s 54D, s 51DA).
