I am writing to you on behalf of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) Board regarding our Statement of Intent.
The Statement of Intent is provided in response to the Statement of Strategic Guidance which was given to the NDIA Board by the former Australian Government Minister for Disability Reform under section 125 of the National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013.
The NDIA Board and the CEO agree with the expectations set out in the Statement of Strategic Guidance for the duration of the launch phase of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and transition to full scheme, 1 July 2013 to 30 June 2016.
Details of how we will meet these expectations are included in the Statement of Intent, which covers key deliverables including strategic, corporate and business plans, financial sustainability, principles underpinning our work, and stakeholder relationships and engagement.
The first deliverable of the Statement of Intent is the NDIA Corporate Plan 2013–2016, which is also attached.
The NDIA Board further notes the request by the former Minister to publish both the Statement of Strategic Guidance and the Statement of Intent on the NDIS website. In the interests of transparency we support this approach.
We look forward to your annual review of this Statement of Intent during the launch phase, and welcome any recommendations from you regarding necessary refinements as the launch progresses.
