Hi redacted,

Our ADA H&L team have confirmed the stat but have recommended the following changes to the statement:

From:

“Approximately 3,000 participants with psychosocial disability have the most complex support needs (as at 30 June 2023). Many of these participants require 24/7 living supports at a 1:3 support ratio or above and intensive mental health and disability supports.”

To:

“Approximately 3,000 participants with psychosocial disability have a level of funding equivalent to a participant requiring 24/7 living supports at a 1:3 support ratio or above (as at 30 June 2023). These participants would have the most complex support needs and may require intensive mental health and disability supports.”

And for the endnote:

From:

By ‘the most complex support needs’ we mean funded for more than 1:3 support ratios (we note this in an endnote).

To:

“The most complex support needs refer to a level of funding equivalent to a SIL package requiring 24/7 living supports at a 1:3 support ratio or above.”

Subject: Count of psychosocial participants with 1:3 funding [SEC=OFFICIAL:Sensitive]

OFFICIAL: Sensitive

Hi redacted redacted and team,

Just one stat I missed from earlier reads. The following is from the Psychosocial part of our Tier 2/Mainstream chapter:

Approximately 3,000 participants with psychosocial disability have the most complex support needs (as at 30 June 2023). Many of these participants require 24/7 living supports at a 1:3 support ratio or above and intensive mental health and disability supports.

By ‘the most complex support needs’ we mean funded for more than 1:3 support ratios (we note this in an endnote). Technically we’ve cleared this already, because it’s drawn from a sheet that your team, I’m almost sure, has already cleared (attached). But we weren’t intending to use it for the above statement when we cleared it, so I thought I might as well send it again. (I say I’m “almost sure” it’s been cleared because I actually lost all my emails when I temporarily lost my account on Oct 31, so even though I remember uploading it and receiving a response, I don’t have a record of it.)

And as a more general update – I have been through all our chapters now. Anything left that we send will be something I missed, or a late breaking request from the Panel.

Regards,
