Dear Sir/Madam,

I write to you to advise that I fully support the submission by AED legal Centre, to the Community Affairs Committee inquiry into the Business Services Payment Scheme Bill 2014.

As a person with a disability, I am incredibly ashamed to be an Australian citizen. The Federal Government and this appalling Bill, is another reminder that through the eyes of the politicians and the Government, I am nothing more than a hindrance, that deserves to be further discriminated against for being born with impairments. I find it very hard to fathom, how the politicians behind this bill sleep at night. If this is not a clear message that the Federal Government places a higher value in its citizens that are fortunate enough to be brought into this world without any impairments! The highest courts in our land have made determinations that my fellow citizens with impairments are being discriminated against, but the Government refuses to accept those rulings, because it has an unlimited amount of tax payers dollars to spend on passing bills and legislation, that send that clear message “People with disabilities are second rate citizens without any rights.”

Our great Nation was once referred to as “The lucky Country.” In the eyes of my fellow citizens with impairments, that saying only applies to those who are “lucky” enough,to be born without any impairments or disabilities.
