I wonder how many people are aware… I want to say that earlier in the year, I met 3 amazing mothers that were in the Acute Mental Health Unit (Psychiatric Unit). All directly related their admittance to a personal breakdown with the stresses related to NDIS, reviews, lack of understanding, supports and so on (you’ve all read this forum & concerns). I have recently heard of another 2 women in a different, Private Clinic (Acute Mental Health).. for the same reason. Same town. It’s one thing to have stress, but when women are becoming suicidal and choosing to spend time in a psych unit, rather then Be at home with their families…this breaks my heart? We all know about posts going up for suicide prevention on fb and we all like on them. Now we know a direct reason for some of these mentally exhausted Mums-its Ndis related?? Is it time for Ndis/Gov to look seriously at the mental health impact on families? Who else has suffered trauma and felt to the point of suicide nearly. This is serious stuff Ndis and it needs to be monitored at the very least… but preferably not there at all? Preventing suicide should be a primary focus for those in the complaint system of Ndis at the very least. Am I alone with this concern?
