General issues around the implementation and performance of the NDIS

Dear Joint Standing Committee on NDIS, I am wanting every child and adult participant in NDIS to have a personal plan preventing abuse and neglect in NDIS.

People with disability are 80% more likely to be victims of abuse and neglect than mainstream or able adults and children. The costs of abuse and neglect recovery plans for children and adults with disability are extraordinary.

If it is that we have the resources to allocate funds for services and equipment, central to that financial plan, an articulated abuse/neglect prevention plan is critical. Vulnerability is dramatically increased every time a new plan is developed without these critical components. Vulnerability will not be managed until prevention is included in every plan.
