Re Independent Assessments:

• There is enough money wasted through the NDIS already without wasting more on getting these done. Registered providers are charging top $ for services and goods. As a Plan Managed participant, I can get an OT’s service for nearly half of what the ones on the list of Registered Providers’ (RP) charge. Even little things have a huge markup: I bought a non-slip, rubber bathmat from Big W for $10, the EXACT same brand and size at a RP was $30!
• It is hard enough finding people in the NDIA who know what they are talking about without trusting them to do IAs. You can talk to 4 different people and they all have a different answer.
• IAs are causing huge stress on people who are already stressed and who have to PROVE every year that they still have their disability just so they can get some assistance to live. Totally degrading!
• If the Government is serious about ‘fixing’ the NDIS then they need to speak to the people it affects the most: PWD!
