Good evening

I am providing brief bullet points of concerns I have as the primary carer of two NDIS participants and as an autistic adult.

• Removing plan managers as a blanket move. We personally are moving from self managed to plan. Using boutique style plan managers allows for greater oversight of invoice processing.

• Good support coordinators are invaluable - bring in oversight, peak bodies, mandatory training etc but for heaven sake don’t scrap them. Carers should not have to co-ordinate their care recipients plans. You currently have to book 15 min timeslots with your lac 4 weeks out - you get approximately 4 of these per year. I’m still waiting on a call back from 3 months ago. There is no way SC can be scrapped. Personally I have no interest in face to face hub style contact - I am happy with my SC in NSW ( I’m in Brisbane). She gets the job done and is fabulous.

• NDIS employees (lacs and planners) who have no medical or formal disability training cannot be expected to understand complex planning requirements.

• Personally I think everyone should hold some level of registration and mandatory qualification.

I have no issues with the majority of the other reform ideas but the above concern me quite a bit.
