I am an *NDIS Service Provider

I want to respond to the proposed changes to the NDIS Bill.

I am concerned with the proposed changes about removing funding for non- assistance animals.

Please consider the following as a sample of professionalism in our service:

We provide Equine Assisted Learning for neurodiverse learners. We utilise Equine activities to engage the educationally disengaged and motivate struggling learners. We provide transferrable learning skills and liaise with teachers, psychologists, speech therapists etc.

We have a qualified teacher with Horse Safety Australia qualifications to deliver our services with support workers. We combine our learning activities with desk interactions and learning games. We liaise with families to meet their goals for their children’s needs.

We have reports detailing service delivery outcomes for each participant.

We have 10 years of effective service delivery with recorded outcomes, parental anecdotes and school recommendations.

We are affiliated with Animal Therapies Limited, attending yearly conferences and d chairing national committee meetings.

The potential removing “equine therapy” or “equine assisted learning” from NDIS funding without adequate research into the professional and effective service being provided to NDIS clients is a blatant misunderstanding and needs a professional review and inquiry.

I hope the Committee will take all submissions seriously in preparing its report.
