Thank you for taking the time to clarify aspects of the NDIS Scheme and to tighten/ focus the resources made available in an NDIS Plan.

I appreciate the reduction in the number of cases the NDIA can require a Medical Assessment be completed. AS an alternative I suggest that if the NDIA insists on a new assessment that the funds be made available in the plan as they can be very expensive to obtain.

AS for the use of funding, I am appalled that the Participant can fund a holiday to travel to the Gold Coast to experience crowds and theme parks. Anyone else who wants that experience must pay for that themselves (as they should) and just because the trip could be claimed “Increased Capacity” crowds can be experienced in the local area.

I believe ANY overnight support more than 50klm from the participant’s normal residence should be subject to audit, if not mandated they have prior approval from NDIS.

I would expect that leniency would be shown for those in remote localities, however, The excursion must be iaw the goals a care strategies for the participant.

The majority of Pensioners who want a holiday have to save to go or they just miss out! NDIA participants are no different.
