To The House of Representatives.

I am writing to express my concern regarding the proposed changes within the National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Getting the NDIS Back on Track No. 1) Bill 2024.

Firstly, regarding paragraph 136 of part 3 of Schedule 1: No reassessment of certain old framework plans, and paragraph 138: Transitional rules. Also Schedule 2 part 1: Paragraph 3 Subsection 73U(6), paragraph 4 After subsection 73U(9), paragraph 5 At the end of subsection 73ZN(9), paragraph 7 Subsections 202B(1) and (2) (including the table labelled ‘Delegation of regulatory powers’).

My concerns come from me as disabled person, a participant of the NDIS. The NDIA is letting non disabled people, who don’t understand how disabled people live dictate whether certain disabled people meet the ‘requirements’ to receive funding to support themselves with their disabilities that are stopping them from living a normal life with proper shelter, a job with adjustments for their needs and many other factors that everyone needs and deserves.

The NDIA is not letting disabled people self-advocate or have self-determination. Disabled people need to be the face and leaders of the NDIA and the government, because they can understand other disabled people and how they get treated by non- disabled people, and what kind of support and level of support that each individual needs.

We know what kind of support we need. I know what kind of support that I needs.

Please consider the concerns and opinions of us disabled people and allies of disabled people.
