Senator Wendy Askew Committee Chair Community Affairs Legislation Committee Australian Government Dear Senator Thank you for the opportunity to make a submission to the Community Affairs Legislation Committee Inquiry into the National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Improving Supports for At Risk Participants) Bill 2020.

The Tasmanian Government supports the recommendations of the independent review into circumstances relating to the death of Ann-Marie Smith, by the Hon Alan Robertson SC, and therefore supports the intent of the National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Improving Supports for At Risk Participants) Bill 2020.

We look forward to working with the Australian Government, the National Disability Insurance Scheme Commission, and our state and territory colleagues to improve the protections in place for vulnerable people.
