Thank you for the invitation to make a submission on the National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Improving Supports for At Risk Participants) Bill 2021.

I am responding on behalf of the Scope CEO, Dr Jennifer Fitzgerald.

We have reviewed each of the proposed amendments from the Bill along with the Explanatory memorandum. Scope is pleased to support the proposed amendments, specifically the strengthening of participant safeguards; increased accountability for NDIS providers; and appropriate enforceability through the National Disability Insurance Agency and NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
