Please consider this email a formal submission by me to the Senate Standing Committee on Community Affairs Inquiry into the National Disability Insurance Scheme Bill 2012.

The current disability system has many problems that need to be addressed.

My granddaughter was born Blind, she is severely vision impared, even after several eye operations. She 10 years old. But she cannot talk. She is also backwood as far as learning is concerned.

The main features of the NDIS that will make a difference to the community are:

• Better access to mainstream support and services,
• Better access to education and work opportunities,
• Removal of age barriers to services for children

The most important services for the NDIS to provide are:

• Recreation and community access,
• Case management, planning and coordination,
• Crisis and emergency support

I support the introduction of the NDIS.

I SUPPORT THE NDIS BECAUSE THERE ARE SO MANY DISABLED PEOPLE WHOSE LIFE COULD BE IMPROVED WITH JUST A LITTLE BIT OF HELP. SOME PEOPLE WHO COULD LIVE A NORMAL LIFE, CARERS COULD HAVE SOME TIME OFF IF THERE WAS SOMEONE RELIABLE TO TAKE CARE OF THEIR PATIENT. SOME DISABLED PEOPLE ARE A FULL TIME JOB. 24X7 AND IF CARERS COULD HAVE SOME TIME OFF IT WOULD HELP, AND KEEP THE PATIENT HAPPY AND THE CARER HAPPIER.

CHILDREN NEED EDUCATION, AND SPECIAL HELP - SPEECH THERAPY LESSONS AND SPECIAL SCHOOLS, SOME CHILDREN TAKE LONGER TO LEARN THEIR LESSONS, UNFORTUNATELY SOME CHILDREN WILL NEVER LEARN AND NEED SPECIAL KINDNESS.
