Please consider this email a formal submission by me to the Senate Standing Committee on Community Affairs Inquiry into the National Disability Insurance Scheme Bill 2012.

The current disability system has many problems that need to be addressed.

It does not provide my son, who has Autism, with the support , education and services he requires to become the best he can be, to become a contributing member of our society. We are now selling our family home and purchasing one half the price, in a cheaper area, but nearer some services he will require, so as we can afford to pay for the services he needs, and access them ! as we were in a country area there was Nothing ! this has put a Huge impact on my Family !

The main features of the NDIS that will make a difference to the community are:

• Better access to mainstream support and services,
• Better access to education and work opportunities,
• Older parents and families will not worry what happens when they can no longer provide support

The most important services for the NDIS to provide are:

• Therapy and allied health services,
• Education support (technology/services/equipment),
• Employment support

I support the introduction of the NDIS.

Because those with special needs, need the support they deserve to be the best They can be !
