Please consider this email a formal submission by me to the Senate Standing Committee on Community Affairs Inquiry into the National Disability Insurance Scheme Bill 2012.

The current disability system has many problems that need to be addressed.

It doesnt work for us as we live in country victoria,there arent enough services or funding.Respite is a big issue the closest respite house is 60 kms away so we dont recieve much respite and after 14 yrs of carering a little bit would be lovely.Our child has mild cp we feel that we get forgotton about .because we live in the country that shouldnt change things it should all be equal service across the board.

The main features of the NDIS that will make a difference to the community are:

• Better access to mainstream support and services,
• People with a disability can plan their lives and pursue their goals and dreams,
• Removal of age barriers to services for children

The most important services for the NDIS to provide are:

• Flexible in-home/outside home respite,
• Case management, planning and coordination,
• Positive behaviour support and psychological services

I support the introduction of the NDIS.

Because the system now needs to change
