Please consider this email a formal submission by me to the Senate Standing Committee on Community Affairs Inquiry into the National Disability Insurance Scheme Bill 2012.

The current disability system has many problems that need to be addressed.

The need for better equipment and access to this equipment Support when needed and less red tape

The main features of the NDIS that will make a difference to the community are:

• Ensure support and equipment is available when needed,
• People with a disability can plan their lives and pursue their goals and dreams,
• Minimising the number of times people have to tell their story in order to get support

The most important services for the NDIS to provide are:

• Therapy and allied health services,
• Equipment and home/vehicle modifications,
• Flexible in-home/outside home respite

I support the introduction of the NDIS. because it will help support the living costs for people with a disability to help upgrade the necessary equipment and respite for parents and carers young or old also better access for the disabled person to have more freedom socially like surfing or going out with friends even studying my sister knows that her life still means something regardless of her disability its so important to get support i have met families living with a person who has a diability and it has torn there family apart due to money and stress and frustration the families are destroyed they had very little support they just cant afford all the extra costs without this scheme you are simply taking away peoples lives and their rights as a human being to live life.
