Please consider this email a formal submission by me to the Senate Standing Committee on Community Affairs Inquiry into the National Disability Insurance Scheme Bill 2012.

The current disability system has many problems that need to be addressed.

I work for Life Without Barriers in Ulladulla and we service Adults with a Disability and in the local community we support Attendant care Clients.The problems and processess for everyone to access the support they need is so difficult and really repeative for the Families with little outcomes.We have aging Parents who are really desperate for more accommadation as this is such a burden of who will become their Carers when they are gone please support these people to haev a wonderful happy life like they deserve.

The main features of the NDIS that will make a difference to the community are:

  • Ensure support and equipment is available when needed,
  • Better access to mainstream support and services,
  • Minimising the number of times people have to tell their story in order to get support

The most important services for the NDIS to provide are:

  • Therapy and allied health services,
  • Support for families and carers,
  • Accommodation options

I support the introduction of the NDIS.

Seeing the support that is needed and not there I think we really need the support and Voice of the NDIS.We know that people really care and want to make important changes for the future.
