Please consider this email a formal submission by me to the Senate Standing Committee on Community Affairs Inquiry into the National Disability Insurance Scheme Bill 2012.

The current disability system has many problems that need to be addressed.

Ther are not enough careers quote fill positions therefore the is a lack of continuity in the people dealing with the disabled who cannot always voice their needs. We all like to be treated the way we are used to by those that know us. Also it’s made too hard for parents of disabled children to get paid as careers when they are unable to work and saving the govt a lot of money by providing free care.

The main features of the NDIS that will make a difference to the community are:

• More employment of people with disability and less reliance on social welfare,
• Minimising the number of times people have to tell their story in order to get support, Older parents and families will not worry what happens when they can no longer provide support

The most important services for the NDIS to provide are:

• Employment support,
• Support for families and carers,
• Accommodation options

I support the introduction of the NDIS.

Because weave only coped due to family support but we are getting old and worry about our future
