My Ideals For The NDIS

I am submitting my ideals for the NDIS. I am actually not sure of what I am doing as there has been very little information given to the public about what disabilities and who are going to be included.

The main features I think would have the biggest community impact after living with a Polio sufferer for 20 years and becoming disabled myself through an accident at work are as follows:

• Give people with disabilities the free choice of the type of service they use.
• Minimise the amount of times they have to tell their story.
• Give access to reliable and thorough information about support options they and their carers can use.

The main Support types I consider most important for NDIS to provide are as follows:

• Equipment and home/vehicle modification
• Support for the family and carers
• In home care and domestic assistance
