| write on behalf of the Just Better Care Group, an organisation offering personalised care and
support to people with disability throughout Australia. Just Better Care is aware of the detail in the Statement of Options within the Regulation Impact Statement, and is supportive of the preferred option.
For many years now, people with disability, their families and advocates have been pushing for a system that provides choice and control. In working out the detail of the legislation, Just Better Care recommends that Government continues to listen to people with disability and their support networks so that the level of regulation reflects the people’s concerns.
Just Better Care urges Government to consider the strong hold that Disability Service Providers, including Peak Industry Bodies, have had over people with disability and their families, and recommends that views of Disability Service Providers be put to one side so that an accurate and
fair outcome is achieved.
