National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026 Submission 1031
Submission to the Senate Community Affairs Committee
NDIS Future Generations Bill 2026
Dear Committee,
I am writing this to express my opposition to the proposed bill. As a person who has family members who live with significant disabilities, I can see how damaging this Bill would be if passed. Through my family’s experience, I have seen firsthand how vital the NDIS is — not just for the individual’s independence, dignity and quality of life, but also for the wellbeing of the family members who support them every day. These proposed reforms are creating genuine fear and uncertainty for families like ours.
I urge the committee to reject the bill:
Reject the removal of appeal rights Reject mandatory registration of providers - taking choice away from the disabled Reject cuts to community participation funding - which will cause isolation
If these changes go ahead, the consequences for both people with disability and their families will be significant. Families are already stretched emotionally, physically and financially, and cannot absorb further pressure.
Kind regards
